BRAHMA TEMPLE - Being the only temple where Lord Brahma is worshipped it is one of the main attractions of Pushkar. It houses a life-size idol of Lord Brahma the creator, with four arms, in the antralaya or vestibule. The temple is also characterized by its white marble floor and stairs and walls studded with silver coins. These coins are put by devotees to mark the birth or death of loved ones.
PUSHKAR LAKE - Another major attraction is the picturesque Pushkar Lake of immense significance for Hindus due to its legendary origins. According to legend, a lotus dropped from the hand of Lord Brahma into this valley. A lake sprang up at this spot, which was dedicated to Lord Brahma. It is surrounded by 500 temples, 52 palaces and 52 ghats.
PUSHKAR BAZAAR - Pushkar is famous for the spate of shopping options that it provides. Local markets display souvenirs, traditional Rajasthani costumes, jewellery, embroidered fabrics, decoration pieces and accessories. The bazaar is found to be bustling with activity during the annual Pushkar Fair.
SAVITRI TEMPLE - This temple on top of the Ratnagiri Hill, is dedicated to the goddess Savitri, wife of Lord Brahma. Legend has it that Brahma had performed a yagna alongside Gayatri, a young milkmaid which enraged Savitri. She placed a curse on her husband after which he was never to be worshipped anywhere else except once a year in Pushkar. The temple was built on the site where Savitri immolated herself after leaving her husband. The temple holds a beautiful statue of the Goddess inside it.
MAHADEVA TEMPLE - Built in the 19th century, this temple is characterized by the statue of Lord Mahadeva which is made of white marble and depicts Mahadeva with five faces. The temple is remarkable for its elegant structure and delicate ornaments.
RANGJI TEMPLE - This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the Preserver of the Universe. Built in the South Indian style, it comprises of two massive structures of dwarpalas (gatekeepers) at the main gate. The temple also has an image of Garuda, the carrier of lord Vishnu.
VARAHA TEMPLE - This temple dedicated to Varaha, the boar incarnation of Lord Vishnu was built in the 12th century. It is believed that Varaha appeared here, after which the temple was erected in his honour.
MAN MAHAL - The Man Mahal built by Raja Man Singh of Amber is presently being used as the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation's tourist bungalow.
